Game studios in Eastern Europe. App factories in Turkey. And robotaxis in the Middle East.
These are fascinating tech stories that go unnoticed in mainstream media simply because they aren’t happening in Silicon Valley.
That’s why Yunan and I started Reading the Waves to fill this gap. We want to write about the important, sometimes surprising tech stories outside the usual hubs. Drawing on our backgrounds in journalism and tech businesses, we're tapping into a wide network to understand what’s really going on.
This is an experiment. We’ll report, ask hard questions, and make these stories informative, inspiring—or at the very least, a good read.
The first issue is out now. I’d love to hear what you think—feedback, ideas, or a share if you like it.
P.S. Leapfrog is still updating, just updating more sporadically with my own musings on tech. A new piece is coming in the next few days. 🐸
